What are the danger of Facebook or other social media sites and do you think you are immune to them? Refer to the article in your answer.
In our modern day life, social media websites are becoming more and more popular, almost everybody is connected to at least one sites. Facebook for example is a social media site that is getting increasingly popular among all other websites. According to studies, each Facebook user have in average 130 friends and spend about 700 billions minutes per month on Facebook. Many of the Facebook users are high school students and can be easily tricked into many dangerous situations. Many are desperate for popularity so even if a person whom they may not know about send them a friend request, they’ll accept it just to increase their number of friends on Facebook which they think will make them more popular. But what they didn't think about is that this increase the chance of adding people like Nina’s “boyfriend” which was mentioned in the article ‘Pimps hit social networks to recruit underage sex workers’ into their friend list. Not only Facebook, other social media sites such as Twitter, Instagram and Tumblr can also be very dangerous if random strangers are added. Personally I think I’m immune to these danger because I will never add any stranger to my account and even if I do I probably will not. Also I consider myself a very cautious person, I will never trust a stranger who just randomly come up to me and talk to me unless she/he is a reliable friend of one of my friends or family members. The things that happened to Nina and Lisa will never even occur if they didn't trust strangers easily and believe them just because they said some nice things to them. Most importantly, I always keep in mind that everything that is posted on the internet can not be taken back. So I always think before I post something or make any decisions online.
